Sea Turtle Rescue on The Outer Banks

Sea Turtle Rescue!

Found this little guy on the Village at Nags Head Golf Course on Sunday following Hurricane Irene.

We took him home and called N.E.S.T. to find out what we should do...for this baby we needed to put him in a bucket on wet sand and keep a towel over the top (they do not like a lot of light) to transport him to the NEST volunteers.

We nicknamed him Titleist (yes as in the golf ball). We found him in the clumps of seaweed that washed up on one of the fairways.

He is a baby Green Sea Turtle that probably hatched last weekend from one of the 3 nests located right here in Kill Devil Hills!

At 9:00PM with the help of N.E.S.T. and the Roanoke Island Aquarium we released Titliest and 3 others into the ocean so they can make their swim to the Gulf Stream.

The OBWA Wedding Expo

So the OBWA Wedding Expo this past weekend was a blast...exciting, exhausting, a complete whirlwind, and overall an awesome time! I was replying to inquiries all day yesterday (these little fingers are wornout from all the typing!) I met some great couples, got to see lots of old OBWA friends, and meet some super friendly new vendors!

And I was pleasantly surprised to see one of my images, FULL SPREAD!, on page 48 of the 2009 Outer Banks Bride Magazine! Here's a little preview....

So this is an engagement shoot I did a week or so ago for Amy & Joe.

And I had a blast...As I have always believed and said, "A good indicator of when I have had a really fun shoot is when I come home and my clothes are absolutely soaked!" I am lucky enough to be not only shooting Amy's bridal portaits in 2 weeks, but also their wedding in November.

Amy & Joe congrats! Can't wait see more of you two (or I should say 3!)
